Poland

Lockheed Martin and Poland have established a solid partnership ever since the first programs were set up in 1997. As a country in a historically strategic location in the heart of Europe, Poland is an important partner in the global market.

Air Force Programs
Poland was one of the original signatories of the regional air sovereignty agreement put forth by the United States to improve the cross-border civil and military air picture throughout the former Warsaw Pact countries. Lockheed Martin installed the Air Sovereignty Operation Centers (ASOC) and has provided enhancements to the system throughout the years. The ASOC operates in conjunction with national civilian ATC systems and military airspace management system. Following consecutive upgrades, the system is to be operational in Poland until 2015.

The Polish Air Force ordered 48 of the Block 52 F-16C/Ds to replace MiG aircraft. Deliveries began in 2006 and were completed in December 2008. Equipped with JHMCS and Sniper ER pods, and armed with AIM-9X, AIM-120C, JSOW and JDAM, the Polish F-16s are the most advanced in NATO.

Additional elements of the winning package include advanced U.S. weapons, training by the U.S. Air Force, and long-term support of the aircraft.  The Polish Air Force is also acquiring Lockheed Martin Sniper targeting pods to make their F-16s even more effective in today’s environment.

Poland currently flies three C-130E Hercules transport planes, thoroughly modernized and upgraded. Two additional deliveries of refurbished C-130E aircraft will be completed by 2013.
